The Firestorm Matrix was a reaction based location created by the morphing of Ronnie Raymond and Jason Rusch into the superhero Firestorm. A non-corporeal location, the Firestorm Matrix was a physical location inside of which physical objects could be stored in a dreamlike world. When Ronnie and Jason merged to create Firestorm, they both entered the Matrix, but it was Jason's body that disappeared, becoming a part of the Matrix. If the right supervillain attacked, namely Deathstorm, then the Firestorm Matrix could be manipulated into becoming a prison containing Firestorm and several other beings. Each being would be trapped in a dream like stance, with only few aware of the truth. However, when this occured there became a very distinct possibility that the Matrix could overload into becoming a giant nuclear bomb.
