Victor Zsasz was a homicidal madman who cut a mark into himself every time he killed somebody.
Biography[]
From a wealthy family, when Victor inherited his money he unfortunately lost most of it while gambling at the Iceberg Casino. This shoved Victor over the edge, leaving him forever angry at Oswald "The Penguin" Cobblepot. Shoved into insanity, whenever he killed somebody Victor cut himself, giving his body unique markings of five. Eventually the death toll got high enough that it warranted the attention of Batman, who made quick work of Victor and had him incarcerated in Arkham Asylum. Although he managed to escape once, he was easily put away again by Batgirl.
When the Joker returned to Gotham City and took over the Asylum, Victor was one of the inmates who was set loose and able wreak havoc. However, when the Penguin arrived in the Asylum to meet with the Joker, Victor was about to kill him until the Clown Prince of Crime himself sent Victor packing. Getting employ in the hands of Emperor Penguin, Victor subsequently killed the Penguin's lawyers and set the Man-Bat Virus loose on the 900 Block of Gotham. Becoming a Man-Bat himself, Victor was again stopped by the Batman and shortly thereafter returned to his original state, allowing him to once again end up in Arkham.
